Carla accepted Christ at the early age of 13 during a revival church outreach on the street corner of her home in Jamaica. She was baptized at 23 in the Gulf of Paria in Chaguaramas, Trinidad. Years later, while serving as the church liaison officer and Sunday school director at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Reidsville, North Carolina, Carla was ordained as a missionary leader. Her faith journey deepened as she sought greater wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of the Bible, ultimately becoming an evangelist at Mount Olive Bible Institute and Seminary. Her mission is to touch lives with the gospel and the gift of communication that God has entrusted to her.

Carla’s journey with Christ has not been without challenges. From single parenthood to homelessness and battles that many might find incomprehensible, she has steadfastly remained focused on her true north—Jesus Christ—overcoming the storms of life with faith and determination.

Today, Carla is the author of Separate to Elevate, a national speaker and a doctoral candidate in performance psychology. Her current research explores how parents can positively influence their adolescent daughters' appearance and behavior by fostering autonomy, competence, and relatedness. Carla has developed an innovative strategy known as the Elevated Method, designed to inspire individuals to take control of their realities and achieve their dreams.

Her philosophy centers on self-discovery and self-realization, asserting that true potential is unlocked when individuals embrace their strengths and rise above limiting beliefs. Carla is passionate about equipping people with the skills and tools needed for personal and professional growth, incorporating her life experiences, faith, and Elevation Method to promote self-improvement, self-love, and optimal performance.
